I walked out on an executive position in a major electronics company. I decided to Stop chasing after the newest Thebes the most state of the Art in everything. It suddenly dawned on me that i had my priorities Bol fixed up and my children de serve better. I had to admit that getting Ful filament from my career was a pipe dream. It May elude me i motherhood As Well but i now know what really matters. After nine years of paying someone to raise my children i was forced to admit that my family is More important to me than anything else. I wish i had known this when my first child was born. I am now 36 years old and Happy to say that we Are expecting our third child in a few months. If the Goodlord keeps my body going we May have four. This Means cutting Down on vacations and our entertaining will be reduced to Popcorn and video parties with afew old friends. But that s what we like Best anyway. An acquaintance has this framed motto on his office Wall no Success in life can compensate for failure at i Don t know who said it but it certainly is True. Sign me truly liberated in Saratoga Calif. Dear truly your letter is sure to elicit a Strong response from career women with children who were miserable staying at Home and decided it would be better for All concerned if they went Back to work. I will also hear from angry mothers who Are divorced and must work in order to make ends meet As Well As married women whose families cannot Hack it on one paycheck. There is no one answer to this dilemma that is right for everyone but the authorities i respect recommend that the Mother stay at Home with a new baby for at least six months and for a year if possible. This recommendation makes a great Deal of sense to me. Dear Ann Landers please warn your readers not to say anything in the presence of a person who is in a coma that they would not say if that person were Alert. I survived a very serious illness a few months ago and recall clearly that the relatives who visited me in the Hospital were planning my funeral and speculating on who was going to get my property my jewelry and so on. It was positively fascinating. I generally mistrust Anonymous letters so i am sign ing my name but please Don t use it. Call me Alert in my sleep dear Alert thanks for the Eye opener. I wonder How Many ple who read your letter will wonder if you mean them. Recently my boarders have informed me that their source of Supply for can Ned cat food has dried up and i Don t like dry food. I also am not used to regular German cat food. There Are some Premium German brands that i like but with the current Exchange rate my boarders find them too expensive. I would like to Point out that cats May appear to lie about and might be considered Lazy but in fact we Are shrewd observers of life. I have watched Many Short Ages come and go in the commissary arid Exchange system but this cat food shortage escapes me. Cats Eathall year round creating a rather stable predictable de Mand for cat food so it is hard to fathom the cause of the shortage. Sawinda Miller Kitzinger West Germany Reader comments on census proposal in reference to the article Congress still battling Over census i feel my obligation is to voice my Opin Ion in defense of where my count should be placed. I do not have any reservations about being counted in the 1990 census however it is important to me to know where my number is going to placed in reference to the redistribution of the House of representatives. From what i understand what rep. Thomas Ridge r-penn., and Barbara Kennely d conn., Are saying is that they want to take the military count and add those num Bers to either their states count or another state s count so that some folks in Congress won t lose their jobs. Kennel by states that she wants to drop the alien count and that the military count is based upon the last military installation the Soldier was based giving those states an advantage Over the states with fewer installations. I would like to Point out that each Soldier has a Home of record that he she should be counted do however agree that the military could be counted where they vote. This would give the Soldier the Opportunity to let anyone know most Likely where that Soldier Calls Home personally i have no real love for Connecticut or Pennsylvania and i would hate so see my number or count go to a state for which i have no love.
