Year later he beat Wimbledon Winner Pat Cash in route to the semifinals. He struggled Early in this tournament taking three sets to make the second round and the quarterfinals. After 14 years at Rhein Blick local military officials have decided not to renew my contract said the affable Cary. So i m packing up. I m not Goin very far i just won t be working at this Golf course any More. I m disappointed of course but iwas in the military Long enough to know that things change. A new Guy comes in. He has some different ideas and the change is  actually Cary has been working at Rhein Blick As a civilian Only the past seven years. But he finished the last seven years of his military career Arthe Niblick serving three separate years As club manager in addition this other duties As teaching profession al and club repair specialist deluxe. When i retired from the army iwas asked to stay on at Rhein Blick As a teaching pro and to run the Golf repair shop Cary  signed a contract agreeing to pay the club 10 percent of my earnings. I had to furnish my own equipment but i al ready had invested in Good equipment on my own and the decision was rather routine. I liked it Here so i  he said he recently had been offered ua-7 position but the limitation on club repair time made it impossible to  their arrangement i would devote Only 5 percent of my time to club repairing and i would be using my own equipment. You could never do any club repair working half a Day a week. That s a time consuming venture. I would also work 50 percent of the time in the pro shop and would have 45percent of the time for lessons with All of the club repair and lesson Money going to the club. It would be a five Day 40 hour a week Job with weekends off. That just did t make too much sense to me. Anyone familiar with Golf knows it in t a Cut and dried setup like that Cary added. Cary indicated that he knew of peo ple in other military Golf clubs in the area doing the same Job who were on at least a ua-9 scale and were allowed to keep a portion of their lesson Money. They also Are not involved in repair  s club repair talents Are re  it to Tuson he can fix any thing the word spread from golfer to golfer from club to club Over the years. He always has treated other people s clubs like the were his own working with skill and patience. They also came to know that if areal emergency existed and if immedi ate repair work was necessary he would do his Best to take Good care of customers. I grew up around a Golf course in Alabama and i Learned the whole thing cad dying Green keeping club management fixing clubs he said. People always taught me to nothings right in the first place because then you won t have to do it again. Always have tried to follow that advice. I really enjoy fixing favorite clubs for  two week club making and club fixing seminar at the Wilson sporting goods co. Factory at Levine Scotland helped hone Gary s skills. Golfers in Europe still will be Able to take it to Tuson he can fix any Golf club whenever a club needs repairing. He will be operating from the base ment of his House in Limburg As soon As he gets All his equipment moved out of  have really enjoyed meeting All the great golfers at Rhein Blick Over the years and i look Forward to continuing serving them even if i m not Here any More he  played High school Golf before going into service. He also played serv ice Golf winning the 6th army and 3rd army div championships. He was recreation Coic in the 3rd army div following a stint with the special forces in  also was with the 82nd airborne div earning a jump master s rating with More than 100 jumps in every thing from a cd 19  the 3rd army div assignment Cary spent a year in Yuma ariz., Ashe Post Coic recreation supervisor before returning to Europe and his Golden Days at Rhein Blick. A if every thing goes according to plan the Arena football league will nearly double in size next season commissioner James Foster said. The 2-year-old league which has franchises in Detroit Chicago Pittsburgh los Angeles new York and Providence r.i., plans to expand to 10 teams in 1989. Every team will be Back and we re seriously looking to add four teams Foster said. We would like a team on the West coast in Florida and Texas and Hope to go Back to Denver and Washington. None of our teams will make Money this year he added. They la each lose about a half million dollars. Being a new league we re Low on the pecking order and we understand that. When we re going head to head with baseball we re  the product is fun Foster said. Peo ple like it because it s different. We re not trying to imitate the Best football in the world the nil. We be created a different game at a different time of the year with a different Type of
