Dodds has always been unique compared to schools stateside. True sometimes there Are activities and classes that Are not offered Here because they Are not available of the system or because of a Lack of participation arc not feasible. A Good example of this is cropping up in he Media these Day sports or rather the Lack of certain major sports in Dodds anyone familiar with Dodds knows that we have three Competition seasons each containing a variety of sports for any student to take part in. Student competing in the following sports Are Eligi ble for vanity and Junior varsity letters football volleyball Chee Neading Ennis basketball wrestling soc cer gymnastic Golf Cross country and track. Most schools in the United slates have these sports and Tome have others which Dodds does not offer. Students who Are interested in pursuing such sport shave to look outside their Community schools to have the Opportunity to participate in them students have b lot of choices when trying to find alternate athletic groups to join. Besides numerous German clubs the area youth activities Aya has programs for sports not covered by Odds. In fact some agencies the european forces swim league for example were designed for Hal purpose among others no doubt. These organization Are filling a void left by the schools and Are not school sponsored. Why then is Dodds allowing swimmers in the Fesl to get varsity letters it comes As no Surprise that Aya baseball is begging for the same treatment. It s time to face reality. I realize that the swimmers and baseball players Are. Dedicated athletes but they Don t deserve the letters. Are they wearing the school colors holding up school Honor or even promoting school Pride these people Are competing for a Community team and Are not even sponsored by try school. Assume that the Only reason they qualify in Dodds eyes for the letters is that they attend Dodds schools and arc school aged. As a varsity athlete i believe Hal All Slu dents who have Ever lettered in a sport should realize that this action to award these letters would be in reality a method of devaluing the varsity and Junior varsity letters. Protect those pets i was really upset Over the picture of the two Chil Dren giving away inv Kittens. How cruel. With As much animal abuse in the world who s to say the Kittens won t be sold for experiments thrown out of the car window starved abused so Many things i i makes me sick to think about it. Why not take them a an animal shelter at least they would have a Chance As you have to qualify Tor one and pay a sum. It helps some. Instead of looking for the bad aspects of that. Look for the positive ones. How Many students in the United states have the Opportunity to experience Europe As we have there is a lot that we have to be thankful for an i t i there if you open your eyes. A recent article mentioned that some schools want to award their Drill teams letters. Here at Mannheim our  do get letters but they get ones that Are different from the Al Lulic tetters. Athletes get purple letters and come under the purple athletic code and  gel Gold act Linand follow the Gold letter code.
