A Tulane s Ter rence Jones accounted for two touch Downs and Miami s Cleveland Gary rushed for 97 Yards leading the South to a 13-12 Victory Over the North in the senior bowl saturday. Jones capped a 70-Yard drive on the South s first Possession with a 1-Yard run and then hit Walter Reeves of a Burn with a 3-Yard touchdown pass with 10 53 left in the game. Gary was the Workhorse in the open ing drive Rushing for 38 Yards on four carries. The Miami Star named the game s outstanding player also had five pass receptions for 42 Yards. Jones completed 6 of 8 passes for 44yards in the 72-Yard fourth Quarter drive that erased a 12-6 North Lead. Southern Mississippi s Chris Seroka who missed his first extra Point then broke the tie. The North got its first score on safety when Alex Stewart of Fullerton state sacked Jones in the end zone. That set up a 37-Yard drive from the ensuing Kickoff ending on a 7-Yard run by Dave Meggett of Towson state. Mike Gillette of Michigan gave the North a 12-6 Lead in the third Quarter with a 24-Yard Field goal. Greg Jackson of Louisiana state intercepted a pass by Duke s Anthon Dilweg at the South 27 with 2 22 left stopping the North s last threat of the game. The Victory increased the South s series advantage to 20-17-3. Jones completed 14 of 21 passes for128 Yards and Gary got his 97 Yards on 19 carries. After Maggett s 7-Yard run gave the North its 9-6 Lead the South moved from its 22 to the North 42 before Washington s Tony Zackery intercepted a Jones pass at the 28. Five plays later Alabama s Derrick Thomas picked off a pass by dil Wegand returned it 11 Yards to the South 40. Later in the second Quarter the South pinned the North Down on the 3 with a 39-Yard punt by Alabama s Chrismor. The North then staged the Best drive of the second Quarter with Dilweg hit Ting on passes of 10, 18, 14 and 11yards, the last to Meggett reaching the South 23, where a clipping penalty Cost the yanks 15 Yards and forced a Pun two plays later. Lafontaine scored a goal in each of the periods for his fourth career hat trick As he led the islanders to their third straight Victory and their fourth in five games. Nordques 4, flames 3 Quebec Robert Picard broke a tie with a Short handed goal in the second period and then Peter Stastny added a Power play goal in the third As Quebe Defeated Calgary for its third straight Victory. The improving Nordques in the midst of their longest winning Streak of the season got excellent goal tending from Mario Gosselin.
