Fred couples was next at 277 after shooting a 71 on sunday. Calcavecchia Lyle Irwin and couples All were tied for the Lead at darkness sat urday. At that Point Calcavecchia Lyle and Irwin had played nine holes of the third round couples 11. They came Back at Daylight sunday to Complete third round play and Lyle took a two shot Lead with a 33 Over the Back nine. He finished 54 holes at 202, with Calcavecchia at 204. Irwin who shot a double bogey on the 18th Hole was at 206. After a break of a Little Over an hour the fourth round began and Irwin appeared to take himself out of it almost immediately. Lyle hit his second shot to within six feet of the Flag on the first Hole and made the putt for Eagle 3. On the second Irwin drove into Trou ble dumped his third into a Bunker took five to reach the Green and one putted for a double bogey. Suddenly he was seven shots Back. Calcavecchia birdied the first made eight consecutive pars and was two be Hind when they made the turn. He dropped a 20-footer on the 11th to Cut the margin to one and Drew even with a Chip in Birdie from about 25 feet on the no. 12 after missing the Green. Two holes later Lyle missed the 14th Green bogeyed and Calcavecchia was ahead. At the same time the 43-year-old Irwin was making a move. After the Nissan fell Back the Jaguar inherited the Lead briefly. I be got mixed emotions really Brabham said of Nissan s showing in its first 24-hour event. I think it s disappointing to get so close after getting so far. On theother hand we scared a lot of  the race clock continued during the red Flag period with the event ending after 24 hours despite the stoppage.
