He returned to Memphis after his discharge and it was about the Best thing he could have done to Advance his music career. Memphis used to be a pretty Good recording Center in the late "60s and 70s." Terry said but added the recording Industry there is not like it used to  Terry did a lot with slam records including work on Hayes hit album  he also played in a band backing up Warwick on one of her albums but the marvels of sound mixing were already so advanced that he never set eyes on her. She recorded the vocals separately. Terry still has a copy of the album which Warwick signed and jokingly referred to All the fun they had making it. His concert work included a performance with Sina tra when the Singer came to Memphis on a so called retirement tour. Terry also played in Duke Elling ton s symphony orchestra. And in a Small Way Terry even made up for the Long $3 nights at the Uso when he helped record the theme song for the men a Short lived television detective series that was a spin off of the Shaft movie. For those three minutes of work he earned $400.
