Said is that the work is being done while people Are living in the midst of it. As they have done for More than four years residents still contend with trenches unexpected Power outages mazes within mazes of detours and a cacophony of bulldozers and trucks. Everyday it s a different Way into work said Bogdanow who acknowledged that even he often takes a wrong turn or two As roads Are closed off around construction Sites. Among those already stationed Here is spec. Schwann Frazier. A personnel clerk who lives in the housing area that looks surprisingly like an american suburb except that there s no City nearby. His town House located near natural Ponds and Bike paths is just Down the Street from the officers Homes. Frazier said the Community has a lot of benefits for his wife Angela and their 5-year-old son Jonathan. I Don t have to drive a car and i can sleep later he said. My family can get to things easily and my son rides his Bike every however turning the swamp area into Fra Ier s Little Patch of Suburbia has meant a lot of planning coordination and headaches said Bogdanow and engineering authorities. Sitting at his desk Bogdanow said that when his project office phone rings he wonders what next he described himself As a coordinator and spends a third of his Lime on the phone putting out fires sometimes 10 in a the fires occasionally turn into major blazes that create delays. Construction workers digging a foundation discovered three buried German tanks from world War ii. For example. And then there were the 60 Harbor swallows that mistook an excavation Sile for a Cliff and decided to Homestead. They were on the German protected list so we risked a significant Fine if we disturbed them Bogdanow explained. So we re holding up construction on an ammunition storage area at least two months until they finish he said he is constantly juggling and shifting projects timetables and a tangle of funding in Hopes of getting things done on time. Added complications have been West German authorities environmental concerns a lot of Trees had to be felled to make room for new building and complaints from harried residents. It was worse a few years ago. He said when people in the Community screamed that they could t Lake All the noise and inconvenience any longer. Finally a Community Liaison officer was appointed to do such things As inform residents about closed roads in the area and to express their concerns to the builders. It s much easier now that Quality of life improvements Are in Bogdanow said. He cited the new commissary and Post Exchange Complex where three fourths of the 261 parking spaces Are empty most Aysas Well As the new High school elementary school and child development Center. That boosted morale a lot he said. Bogdanow said he values the natural Beauty of this Community in the Obj Pfalz Hillside and thinks people will like working and living Here. It will retain that Rural atmosphere but have All the facilities Ofa Large Community he said.
