It was a Superb Home Victory for Prost his fifth French up Victory and he had the added pleasure of giving Ferrari its 100th grand prix Triumph. \ now that Ferrari has solved its reliability problems Prost is in the position to go All the Way against his Long standing Val Senna who drives for the Mclaren Honda team. The current Campaign like last years is shaping up As a Prost Senna Duel of exciting proportions and the Best thing about it is that the two Drivers Are no longer teammates. A a a the French grand prix showed that Ferrari is really Back in business with England s Nigel Mansell capturing the pole position and Prost winning the race. It was the first time this season that a Mclaren Honda had failed to Start on pole. So it is becoming obvious that the Days of Mclaren Honda s total superiority Are Over. In last sunday s French up Ferrari was also much faster than Mclaren in the tire changing department Prost enjoying a big advantage Over Senna there. Proste a Stop for new tires took Only 7.6 seconds while Senna who led until he pitted for new tires near the half Way Mark lost All Hope during his Stop. It took 16.6 seconds and he was never Able to fight Back to the front. An interesting aspect of the French race entered on the Brilliant performance of the Leyton House March Judd team. The italian Driver Ivan Capelli led half the race until Prost got by with two laps to go while Capelli s teammate Mauricio Gugelman of Brazil ran second before his car quit. It was All rather amazing because neither Capelli nor Gugelman was Able to qualify for the mexican grand prix.
