My 3-year-old can set the table if someone gets the dishes out of the Cabinet. Who cares if it Isnit perfect he a learning to be a member of the team. Make it Clear exactly who a responsible for what. For example i do the cooking and help the kids with Homework. My husband does the grocery shopping and outside errands. The 11-year-old takes out the trash. Let the less important things go and done to feel guilty. Our Beds done to get made every Day and the sheets done to get changed every week. A a when we eat out the kids know better than to ask for soft drinks a water is free. They also know better than to ask for Fried stuff and junk food. They Are learning Good nutrition Early. Install Reading lights on your kids Beds and make sure they have lots of Good books to read. Use a cassette tape player for those too Young to read.
