The Mclaron Honda team which won both this years formula one constructors title and Drivers Crown will use the new Honda v-12 engines for the 1991 Campaign. The new v-12s have been tested extensively on both the Bench and the track and they Are apparently working Well although one of them blew up last month during a Long test session on the Estoril circuit in Portugal. Austrian Gerhard Berger was at the wheel when the engine failed. Honda says the v-12 engines will be ready for the 1991 grand prix opener March 10 in Phoenix. Mclaren will have Brand new cars to go with the v-12s. There Are no Driver changes As the defending world Champion Ayrton Senna of Brazil will again team with Berger. A a a ,. Along with Mclaron Honda there will be a Tyrrell Honda team As Well the Tyrrell cars to be powered by an improved version of the Vios used by Mclaren this past season. Teofano Modena of Italy is Tyrrells new Driver for next season and he will be partnered by Japan a Satoru Nakajima. Frenchman Jean Alesi who left Tyrrell to join Ferrari has already had several test sessions in the Ferrari cars and the sessions have reportedly gone Well. The hard charging Alesi will be teamed with his More conservative countryman Alain Prost a three time world Champion and this should make for in interesting situation. Ferrari will once again use v-12  Barnett along with Honda and Ferrari other teams with v-12 engine Power include Minardi footwork Ligier Brabham and Modena. The italian Minardi team gets its engines from Ferrari the japanese financed footwork team formerly arrows will have new v-12s from porsche the French Ligier team and the italian Modena team will have Lamborghini Power plants and the Brabham cars get new Yamaha v-12s. Driving for Minardi will be Pierluigi Martini and Gianni Morbidelli both of Italy. Returning to the Exa rows team Are italians Michele Albreto and Alex Caffi while Ligier has signed Thierry Boutsen of Belgium and the reigning formula 3000 Champion Erik comas of France. The Modena team will have Eric Van de pole of Belgium and Nicola Larina As its Drivers while englishman Martin Brundle will Lead the Brabham team. Brundle a partner has yet to be named.
