Army seeks Gulf bound soldiers error on family pay by Luke Britt staff writer finance officials Are tying to track Down soldiers bound for saudi Arabia who were improperly denied a $60-a-month family separation allowance army finance units working in a Hanau Germany deployment Center mistakenly denied the allowance to families who chose to return to the United states rather than remain in Germany after their sponsors were assigned to operation desert shield. More than 2,000 soldiers went through the Center during the last week in november and the just week of december. J Only soldiers served by the Anau Center were affected by the error a v corp spokesman said. The 5th finance group is examining flight manifests of deployed and deploying soldiers to make necessary changes the spokesman said. Deployed soldiers pay statements will also be screened by their units in Germany to make sure the changes Are made.
