He held a Lead of 10 seconds Over Elliott with 30 laps left. Elliott ate into that Lead As Schrader took it a Little easy through the turns in the final laps to conserve fuel. Waltrip worked into the Lead when he and Earnhardt dulled after Earnhardt passed him to get Back on the Lead Lap on the 220th Lap. The cars touched and Waltrip suffered  to his fender forcing a pit Stop two laps later to change tires and pull out the Sheet Metal. There were 16 Lead changes among nine Drivers with Schrader leading three times for 59 laps including the 1 inn 43
