If this dear lady had ded the entire Community would i ave grieved with us but As it is Well meaning friends who know nothing about alzheimer a and happen to visit Alice on one of her , think we Are terrible people. We get Telephone Calls asking Why we Haven to been to visit Alice in several weeks when in fact we go to see her every Day. She gets on the phone and tells people she is in terrible pain and that we refuse to spend Money on a doctor to find out what is wrong. The truth is we have spent $8,000 on diagnostic tests and the results show that she is in excellent health. The nursing Home we have placed her in costs $3,100 a month. Yesterday a Friend of Alices phoned to plead that we take her a out of  she said a the poor dear is so lonely and hates being in an  i tried to explain that we cannot keep her at Home because she needs around the clock care. I did no to want to mention her urinating on the floor the need to change her bed linens four or five times a Day her swinging a Broom at anyone who comes close or the times she has wandered outside totally unclothed. With the grief that Alices illness and dealing daily with her problems the added stress of these a a friends is More than we can take. Do you have any solutions for handling these people Why can to they understand our pain she is my husbands Mother our children a grandmother. Please give me some advice. . It is impossible to see or even take a full breath when you re gagging from smoke and terrified i have seen an entire family lying just inside the front door which was locked from the inside with a double dead Bolt lock.
