Beneath the twisting dirt Access Road the lower a Valley is a vast dump. Clothing and shoes hauled in by tractor weeks ago when the kurd were freezing to death litter acre after acre the debris is what remains after the a refugees picked Over piles of Relief supplies taking what they needed to survive in the cold wetness that passes for weather in the mountains of Southern Turkey. Eventually the off Road vehicle groans through a final hairpin turn and the Mountain s Crest swings into View. There like some huge panoramic news clip come suddenly to life Are the ,.thousands of refugees clinging to life on the harsh expanse of the Summit. Isik Veren deeply Frozen a couple of weeks ago now bakes in the Sun and the need for water has replaced the fear of deathly chill a truck piled High with Cas apr a bottled water stops and blocks the Road. An ambulance Siren wails in protest. Hundreds of the refugees Rush. Forward surrounding the truck in a swarm of grasping extended arms. A a a a it kurdish workers atop the truck trying to unload the cases take half hearted  with Sticks at the beseeching masses but to Little Avail. The truck quickly vanishes beneath a tide of humanity. The Siren continues to Wail and the jostling mass around the now empty truck Breaks people begin to emerge. One. A Man lugs a full Case of water. A boy clutches two bottles. \ v a a Little girl comes away with nothing. A a month ago Isik Veren s Mountain was topped with. Something approaching Forest. Today a few Trees topless and limbless Are All that remain of the greenery that was stripped off to warm the kurd and Cook their food. With nature s hues gone the Mountain is flecked with the reds and blues of kurdish tents and the clothing of the thousands they shelter.
