A Vii corps was there As our military forces redeployed Back to the United states and Europe i noticed a great Deal of emphasis was put on stateside units and their accomplishments during desert storm. I realize these units will get More attention because of Public opinion. However in a really tired of hearing about units that deployed in mid february and returned several months later. When Vii corps deployed to saudia Arabia from Germany the 93rd signal brigade was one of the first units to go. We hit country on . 2, 1990. Five months later we were still there performing our Mission. We provided communication for almost every Type of unit deployed to saudia Arabia. We Are not looking for any glory just much deserved recognition for the service we supplied to operations desert shield and desert storm. We were Here also and we just want people to know. Like they say a you can talk about us but you can to talk without us a. A sgt. Phillip Johnson operation desert storm. Deserving of benefits i think the extra benefits offered to some involved in desert storm should be reconsidered. The people left behind worked 12 and 18 hours a Day with to Days off. Some of them had to cat and sleep at their Job Sites. They go Home and their families made sacrifices too i think the ones who deserve the benefits Are those Active duty people who went to saudi Arabia. Those with loved ones who were missing or killed in action and Active duty personnel who were left behind to support the troops also deserve the benefits being offered. A Veronica Flores Sembach a Germany Darin for a Imiyo a Arneil most journalists seem to think that in no a Peter Arnett is a hero for braving the bombing of Baghdad to give the iraqis As he said a a fair shake to allow them to get a viewpoint out through his Gen h. Some courage. One of his severest critics Reed Irvine of the accuracy in Media organization has challenged Arnett to a debate at any place any time. If you Are As tired As i am of seeing Arnett interviewed by his Media pals while he ducks such critics As sen. Alan k. When will the War of rhetoric end every Day someone writes about feeling unappreciated or complains Abonit people who feel unappreciated. Recently half of the space on this Page was used for letters complaining about people who complain too much. Were those letters More intellectually stimulating or interesting than those of the Parade seekers did those letters really bring Home an important social topic i suggest that All of you go visit someone who lost a loved one in the War. As you stare into the eyes of a grieving widow maybe some of you poor unappreciated souls will remember just How Lucky you really Are. I and maybe some of you complainers about complainers can explain to a now fatherless child Why his father Doest deserve a heroes Parade. This Page should be for discussions of society a problems not Petty arguments. A spec Jeffrey s. Gifford Ely Stuttgart Germany help not Hurt medical system ailing americans need a socialized medical program. Do you know Why we done to have one because of lobbyists from the american medical and dental associations As Well As the giant insurance companies. Did you know that americans have the highest insurance premiums of any Western nation we also get less service for our dollars. Why should americans pay such exorbitant premiums so Many people in America can to even afford a doctors visit. The Bottom line is that lobbyists should not be Able to Sway Congress we must limit their Power and let Congress work without outside influence. Also members of Congress should have limited terms of say eight to 12 years. We need new fresh members to Deal with today s America. The people in Congress Are Burnt out and complacent and need to be replaced. As Long As the american medical association and the american dental association have their lobbying Power we will never have a socialized medical program. A recent letter stated that it is not important whether an unborn child is a a life or rather the Only important Issue is an individuals right to choose. Sorry i have to disagree. The problem is not with an individuals right of Choice. We All practice that right every time we choose to have real problem is with those who consider it a. Right to be irresponsible. Except in the few instances of rape or incest we choose to participate in the sexual act. But when the Bill comes due. We done to want to pay it. 1 i believe an unborn child has the right to live and be protected the same As other human beings. Because of that belief i feel obliged to protect that life with the same vigor i would use to protect others a last word to the right to lifers who picket abortion clinics and sometimes resort to violence and even destruction your efforts would be so Mitch More effective if you would act out of love for the Young women instead of hatred for a system. The Young women going to these clinics Are frightened children. Your action wont help to change their minds Only to Harden their hearts against you. Love them and you will help them. See your local family planning centers youth centers and adoption agencies to see what you can do to help not Hurt. A a Gregory a.
