Instead of the income tax that Weicker has sought the legislature gave Weicker a two week budget to keep the government running through july 28. Also monday conservative democrats and republicans mounted a new drive to override weickers veto and put into Law a full year budget minus an income tax. Connecticut with a budget last year of $7.5 billion faces a projected deficit of $942 million for the past fiscal year and $1.8 billion for the current one.
