I have had the Honor to serve with 56th Field arty command for a total of 13 years. But As you know 56th Field arty command deactivated this year. My question is what happens to All the property that was upgraded for storage of these missiles when i first arrived at the missile storage area Mesa was astonished How primitive it was a More like a mud Hole. During my tour the Mesa facility was upgraded in accordance with nato. The United states spent millions upon millions of dollars to upgrade the facility. When the inf treaty was signed the facility was still being upgraded. 1 understand contracts were to be finished but lets be for real. After the final deactivation ceremony held at Mesa looked around and wondered what will happen to the facility. I also thought what a waste it was for the american people to spend so Many tax dollars for nothing. Will the German government pay the United states for the work that was completed there who gets the fringe benefits from All the Money poured into this facility not the United states. It is sad that the United states provides so much funding to build areas in Europe just to be turned Over to governments for free.
