Circuit court of appeals judge Robert Vance of Birmingham and Savannah City Alderman Robert Robinson a prominent civil rights lawyer in december 1989. Moody was also convicted of 69 other criminal counts in what prosecutors termed an assault on the 11th circuit court of appeals. Moody a former Law student and businessman with a history of mental problems was tried and sentenced in Minnesota because of extensive publicity the Case had received in the South. . District judge Edward Devitt also ordered that if Moody Ever were released from prison he would have to serve five years of supervised probation and not possess any firearms or dangerous weapons.
