Apr cuban inmates on wednesday night released one of 10 hostages held eight Days in a siege at a Federal prison authorities said. The inmates released the hostage in return for a meeting with a newspaper reporter prison officials said. The reporter Cynthia Corzo of the Spanish language edition of the Miami Herald Al Nuevo Herald identified the freed hostage As Kitty Suddeth 24, a Secretary at the Talladega Federal correctional institution. A she looked a bit shaken a Corzo said. A she was crying but she kept saying in mall right. In mall  the freed hostage needed medical treatment the Bureau of prisons statement read by Warden Roger f. Scott said. He did no to elaborate. Inmates seized Talladega a maximum Security a a alphas unit on aug. 21. The unit contains 121 cubans among the thousands who came to the United states in the 1980 Mariel boat lift. Thirty two were scheduled to be sent Back to Cuba last thursday the Day after the takeover began. The unit also contains i8 non cuban inmates and the nine remaining hostages a seven men and two women who work at the prison. Corzo has written about cuban detainees for Al Nuevo Herald and her name was on a sign inmates posted on the units roof wednesday morning. She then spoke with the inmates by bullhorn from outside the unit and told them she could Tell readers their Story if they would release a fall hostages and detainees requiring treatment a Scott said. Kim by Lim was being held without bail in the los Angeles county jail pending a hearing on extradition to Texas where he is charged with the murders of two Southeast asians and the attempted murders of two others during the robbery of a Home outside Houston in May. Lim was arrested on the Texas murder charges aug. 16 by Long Beach police. Lim has not been charged with the Quot Arizona killings. Bruce Williams of the Harris county homicide Bureau said investigators there were struck by the similarities Between the Texas killings and a Phoenix jewelry store robbery that occurred five Days before the Temple killings. Three Young asian men carrying handguns were involved in both the Texas killings and the jewelry store incident in which two women were threatened but not Hurt authorities said. In both cases the victims were asian and their hands were bound with duct tape.
