Up quarterback Rob Perez rushed for 112 Yards and threw for two touchdowns saturday to lift air Force to a 31-26 Western athletic conference win Over Colorado state. Air Force improved to 2-0 Overall and 1-0 in conference play while Colorado state fell to 1-1 and 0-1. Perez a two touchdown passes were the Only passes he completed but he threw the Ball just seven times. Air Force rushed for 337 Yards against the Csc defense. Tailback Jason Jones led with 127 Rushing Yards on 29 carries. Csc opened the scoring on the first drive of the game. Senior quarterback Kevin Verdugo scored on a 6-Yard run his first career Rushing touchdown to put the rams up 7-0. Air Force came Back to tie the score when Perez scored on a 1-Yard to plunge with 3 51 left in the first Quarter to Cap a 12 play 75-Yard drive. The rams scored again Midway through the second Quarter on a 15-Yard to pass from Verdugo to Billy Gonzales. Csc led 14-7 at halftime. Colorado state widened its Lead to 17-7 in the third Quarter on a 33-Yard Field goal by Mike Brown. Perez threw the first touchdown pass of his career with 6 07 left in the third Quarter a 53-Vard bomb to flanker Scott Hufford which Cut the Csc Lead to 17-14. On the rams next Possession Verdugo fumbled after being hit to give the Ball Back to air Force at Csuy a 38 Yard line. The Falcons travelled the 38 Yards in 3 plays with Perez throwing a 31-Yard touchdown pass to Obasi Onuoha to take the Lead at 21-17. A 49-Yard Field goal by Csuy a Brown Cut the air Force Lead to 21-20 going into the fourth Quarter. The Falcons then scored 10 unanswered Points with a 33-Yard Field goal by Joe Wood and a 1-Yard to plunge by Jones to go up 31-21 with 8 21 left in the game. Csc closed out the scoring with a 30-Yard touchdown pass from Verdugo to wide receiver Greg Primus with 5 49 left. Ball state Routs Navy Annapolis my. Up Corey Croom rushed for a career High 190 Yards and three touchdowns saturday night to spark Ball state to a 33-10 Victory Over Navy.
