Advertising Tel fax 06155-601412 blood drives too lax recently there have been numerous articles in the stars and stripes about the military a blood Bank in Europe being dangerously Low on blood. Frankfurt Germany is one of the communities taking donations at the Hospital. I am not sure about the other military communities but i can say that Frankfurt in t doing much of anything to encourage donors. This is my second tour in Frankfurt and in the Early to mid-1980s, Frankfurt really encouraged people to give blood. How the blood drives were conducted at the Terrace club with everything set up at the club. It is in a Central location in the Abrams Complex which is easily accessible to the Frankfurt military Community directorate of engineering and housing Dodds schools and the contracting Agency. The Frankfurt military Community also put out the word that civilian employees were to be Given administrative leave to donate blood. This is Legal and even listed in the Federal employees almanac. If the Community is really serious a about needing blood the Community and v corps commanders should encourage use of administrative leave for civilians wishing to donate blood. Many supervisors Don t know this is allowed. A lot of people can to afford to be docked for giving blood. This leave policy and a Central location for donations would encourage people to give blood the gift of life a Susanne j. I believe people no matter who they Are should be judged on their own professional Merit and behaviour not by what they do in their off duty time or by their color sex or beliefs provided they do not harm others or pose a threat to National Security. One purpose of Basic training is to screen out those individuals who cannot handle the stress of or transition to a military lifestyle. This should eliminate unstable stereotypical individuals. I elected to do a Dity do it yourself move. Then the government is to pay me for my move 1 followed All the Correct procedures and turned in the paperwork to finance. There i was told that i needed my husbands signature and that they do not Honor poas in this instance. Even though i did the move on my own i was not allowed to pick up my Money without my husbands signature. This infuriates me. My Poa is a Legal document issued by the military Community where i was turning in my paperwork. I called the colonel in charge of finance and he informed me that this is the policy. I called the judge advocate general who informed me that my general Poa was not Worth the paper it was printed on if the place of business chooses not to accept it. The judge advocate general said this policy protects the issuer of the Poa. If the Poa is revoked it is not possible to notify All the places where the Holder could sign the issuers name. If finance wants to protect the military member i have a perfect solution. Have the military member Send notification of revocation to the military Community where the Poa was issued. When a person attempts to use a Poa the business could Call that Community to verify if it s St la valid. The military member does not need to Call every Bank car lot real estate agent Etc. All it would take is one phone Call to verify the Poats Validity. This would protect the military member As Well As the business. This Poa is a Legal document issued to me by my spouse.
