He told a group of about 220 adults at the Frankfurt elementary school gymnasium last week that the onus was on All parents. The class curriculum for third graders at wild Flecken elementary school was designed for students who already knew How to write the alphabet. So deciding something should be done to help the youngsters Harper rallied volunteers from All walks of life in the Community to form a summer tutoring program. Called the student academic program a network of some 40 volunteers held tutoring session for two weeks in june and one week in july. A total of go pupils came in during their summer vacation to get a jump on the next school year. But that was just the beginning. Many volunteers who helped children during the summer continue to spend time in the school As teachers helpers Harper said.
