Bush pleased anti abortion activists by pledging to defend the regulations but Capitol Hill was More impressed by the doctors. In a lopsided 353-74 vote in june the House passed a $203 billion appropriation Bill for the health and human services education and labor departments that includes a one year ban on using Money to enforce the gag Rule. The Senate passed the appropriations Bill 78-22. A House Senate report on the measure is expected to reach the House floor wednesday. If it passes it goes to the Senate on thursday.
