It was a Complete Victory for Philadelphia which like the giants is at 4-5 and a game out of wild card Contention after breaking a four game losing Streak. But the eagles came out looking a lot better than new York which has now been outscored 47-7 since taking a 13-0 Lead into halftime in a 17-13 loss to Washington last week. The 23-Point margin of defeat was the giants worst in a non strike game since a 44-7 defeat in san Diego 11 years ago. A i think we wore them Down and took the fight out of them a said Ron Heller the left tackle who helped keep Lawrence Taylor off Mcmahon. The defense meanwhile held the league s leading running game averaging 150 Yards a game to just 46. It also sacked Jeff Hostetler four times forcing a Fumble that set up one of Roger Ruzek a three Field goals. Simmons and White had a sack and a half apiece against an offence that had allowed Only 13 in its first eight games none in the last two. Neither the rangers nor Vanbiesbrouc have fared Well against the flames a new York ended a five Gam National hockey league wingless Streak against Calgary while Vanbiesbrouc is 3-7-1 lifetime against the flames. Toronto won for Only the fourth time in 15 games. The expansion Sharks Are 0-11-0 on the Road including a seven game trip that ended at Maple Leaf  3, devils 2 a Montreal a Mike Keane scored on a rebound 38 seconds into overtime monday night lifting Montreal Over the new Jersey devils and extending the Ca a Dienst winning Streak to eight games. The Victory saved face for Montreal goal tender Patrick Roy who allowed a Freak goal to tie the game in the third period. New jerseys Peter Stastny headed Oil the ice on a line change flipped the puck in from Center ice and the shot bounced Over roys Glove. Elder Griffey decides to retire Seattle a Ken Griffey a three time All Star who made baseball history by playing in the same Outfield with his son said monday he is retiring after a 19-year major league career. Ken Griffey jr., the mariners 21-year-old Center fielder already is a two time Al All Star. The Griffey Are the Only father and son combination to play in the major leagues at the same time. Quot playing with Junior Over the last two seasons was definitely the highlight of my career a Griffey said in a statement. Griffey missed most of 1991 with a herniated disk in his neck. He began the season on the disabled list after hurting the neck in a car Accident during Spring training. Griffey underwent surgery in Cincinnati on sept. 11 to repair the bulging disk. A i was hoping to be Able to come Back for one More year a Griffey told the Seattle Post intelligencer sunday night. Quot but i realized about a week after the operation that it probably was t going to  Griffey who broke in with the Cincinnati reds in 1973, finished his big league career with a .296 batting average.
