On the opposite Side of the nation heavy Rains hit Southern California on sunday. Snow continued to fall Early monday in Pittsburgh Buffalo and Albany . Boston and . As the storm pushed out to sea its Southern flank remained Over Florida where showers and thunderstorms were forecast. Clouds also lingered Over the Carolina coast after rain dampened an area from Virginia across the Southern half of the appalachians much of the lower Ohio Valley the Tennessee Valley and much of the Southeast. The storm left up to 10 inches of Snow in Michigan 6 inches in Northern Indiana and 8 inches in Northwestern Ohio creating hazardous driving conditions. At least six deaths were blamed on the weather including two killed in suburban Chicago traffic accidents. New York City received Snow for the second time in a week. Between 4 and 6 inches fell in the City for total of 12 inches. Rains and thunderstorms from the Pacific storm were blamed for 20-car pileup near suburban san Dimas where the storm left interstate 10 Slippery in the los Angeles area. Snow blanketed higher elevations in the Northern Sierra nevadas and in Nevada. Temperatures reached near record Levels along the Gulf of Mexico with 2-Inch hailstones falling in Arkansas. Port Arthur Texas hit 82 degrees on sunday breaking its record for March 22. The nation s High sunday was 94 at Mcallen Texas.
