Why must the Apo mail system Force me to do it i pay my Money but its a Gamble whether ill get my mail. On Jan. 17, my Cousin in Pittsburgh mailed me two Var tapes parcel Post. No Luck i still done to have them. I ordered two Stifel lamps from the cafes Catalon. Cafes sent me a notice that two lamps and two shades in four boxes were mailed All on the same Day. Two weeks ago i received two shades and one lamp. The same Day i received All the issues of . News and world report bound for Apo 09154. This is not a winning combination. All of us understood lost mail during operation desert shield storm but it Hasni to gotten any better since then. What is going on 1 done to get of nov. I want my 12 episodes of Star trek the next generation and i want to be Able to watch them by the Light of a pair of lamps not one lamp with two shades on it. I paid my Money for them they were delivered to the Apo system in new York. This is supposed to be a mail system not a Roulette game. Where is my mail a Karen d. Baler Stuttgart Germany a 41 people Are the a system if you can stand one More letter commenting on the army system Here goes. Today a paper contained two letters commenting about the new mail system. One of them like Many of the other complaint letters Points in the wrong direction. One of them hits the Issue right on the head. As Long As we persist in attributing the woes of the system to a the system a nothing is going to be solved. People run the system. People need to be held accountable for How Well or How poorly a the system is run. There is some person behind every Success Story or tale of woe concerning every a a system we face in Day to Day military dealings. Lets keep that in mind and hold the Pac personnel actions Center no or the postal officer or the finance clerk answerable for the a Latta boys and a Law s. A we encounter. In these Days where excellence is the watchword for detainment in the army lets keep those that want to make the Standard and help those that done to get out. Sure its easier to blame a a system a but it takes longer to work the bugs out when you done to give them a name and face. A sgt. 1st class Stephen l. Brown Nimberg Germany a a racism begins in Home after Reading months of comments about racism 1 feel its about time i put in my two cents Worth. My 11-year-old daughter came in recently and told me that her Little Friend had said they play together anymore because her father was a few months ago i sent two Little girls Home from our Yard because one of them called my daughter a a Nigger a Only to have her Mother banging on my door five minutes later telling me i was prejudiced. I was shocked beyond belief. The sad part of these two incidents is that my daughter and i Are White and the children and families to whom in a referring Are Black. Racism begins in the Home. No matter How morally Correct in be tried to raise my child she a developing her own opinions just by going outside to play or to school. So to those of you screaming racism practice what you preach. Enough is enough. I May be White but i am an american Indian too so done to preach to me about racism. Al. Such letters should be addressed to readers action line the stars and stripes unit 29480, Apoate 09211.?~history has no Colora i would like to comment on the letter to the editor a need for where did the writer get his information obviously it was written in some publication. If he could research and find this information Why can to others who Are interested in history do the same the question that i am most confronted with is How Long is this history seeking thing going to go on i done to recall any history class that i attended where the color of the individuals skin detracted from the deed. Nor was this color highlighted. I am Black but i am proud of Paul Revere Jackie Robinson John Hancock Daniel a a Chappie James Neil Armstrong Jesse Owens babe Ruth it Al. Why am i proud because they Are All americans. The lesson we need to bequeath to All americans and especially our Young people is learn All history and try to emulate the Good things and reject the bad things. But above All do All you can to be a Fine upstanding citizen. We Are All in the same barrel a americans. Lets Stop concentrating on our differences and build on our similarities. History has no color and it belongs to us All. It is Wise to know what has been done but its More important to know what must be done and then do it. A Ralph d. Ransom London England a household goods theft this is in reference to the letter a trip off by grave attention must be Given to this matter because it occurs constantly. I am currently serving my third tour in Germany. In each incident in which my goods were shipped to the states my cd player and video tapes were stolen by the packers. As with sgt. 1st class Passman my goods were clearly marked and stored in boxes and then packed in the crate. However somewhere Between my residence and the shipping Yard the crate was opened and my goods stolen. I have found that this has happened to an alarming number of my Peers and subordinates while going to and coming from the states. Sure we Are reimbursed somewhat for the goods but when consideration is Given to sentiment and value of collections the Money we Are Given after depreciation has been calculated does Little to ease the anger and displeasure after finding our valuables pilfered. After the last incident i went to jag judge advocate and asked if anything is being done about this. I was told that several packers Are under investigation for theft. Evidently the investigation is not going Well because this has been going on for 12 years a that i can verify. The packers have a Good Racket going on Here. They rarely get caught and the shipping company is charged for the theft. I agree with sgt. 1st class Passman. The Only Way to prevent having my goods stolen again is for me to mail my valuables ahead of me. I strongly advise All soldiers pending reassignment to the states to do likewise. Better Safe than sorry. A sgt. 1st class John a. Roby bad Kreuz Nach Germany German Drivers better with regard to the letter a driving in Germany april 20i have no problem with an implied or real liability when exceeding the recommended Speed of 130 Kph and an Accident results. Instead it is the writers obvious intent to Lump All a performance oriented Drivers into the obnoxious Etc., Etc. Category. Americans in Many cases transplant their driving habits from the interstates to the autobahn a a deadly mix. Poking around in the left Lane May be of in Rural Kansas or wherever but it is not a very Good idea on the autobahn. Over Here one passes swiftly and gets Back into the right Lane As soon As it is Safe. Following this habit ensures that the letter writer will not be flashed at tailgate or otherwise inconvenienced. Incidentally if we had German driving test standards in the United states our roads would be half empty. I would just As soon drive in Germany where at least eight of 10 Drivers Are predictable in their reactions to any Given situation rather than say on 1-95 Between Richmond a and Washington d.c., where anything goes in whatever Lane one chooses a very often without the Benefit of directional lights or similar useful hints As to what one wants to do next. In All cases defensive driving is the key and performance oriented Drivers when following this Golden Rule Are As Safe As any person observing the 130 Kph Speed limit. Idiot Drivers Are to be found anywhere and Germany is no exception. A Ernest g. Koegl we Brucken Germany pen pals am,25 Eaf cd 81x1 my hobbles Are sports drawing and painting.
