About a year ago in Imberg a Terrance Chukes decided he might like to try High jumping. Today he holds the Dodds record at 6-9/2. Chukes achieved that feat to highlight the second Day activities in the 1992 Central european track and Field championships at Dante stadium. Chukes bettered the old record set last year by Frankfurt a Troy Gray by Only a Quarter of an Inch. A i Wasny to into track at All until last Spring a Chukes said following his record setting Effort. A i saw Tamika Smith High jumping and i thought i would give it a try. I liked it and went out for track that Chukes had a Good Model in Smith. She holds the Dodds girls record at 5-43/4. By the end of the 1991 Campaign Chukes was doing 6-3, and 1992 has been a continued cd Jib up the ladder. This year Chukes decide track and Field running the hurdles might be interesting and challenging. He met that Challenge in spectacular fashion nipping Kaiserslautern a Thomas Harden at the tape to take the 110 highs in 15.25. A running the hurdles is fun too a Chukes said. A i wish i had begun competing in them Chukes achievements overshadowed the closing of a Brilliant career of Bonne a Tracey Losi. She added the 800 and 1,500 titles to the 3,000 she won thursday giving her nine titles in three years of Competition. She probably would have had 12, except that she missed the entire 1991 Campaign because of injuries. Losi also won four Central european Cross country titles. Losi won the 800 in 2 21.33 and the 1,500 in 4 44.18. Ramstein a Teri Duthie who won All three events in Losius absence last year finished second in each race. Duthie is Only a Sophomore so she has two years of High school Competition ahead of her. Losi was the Only triple Winner Hanau Santonio Pena missing out on a sweep of the boys distance events when Sophomore teammate Jessie Griffin edged him out in the 3,000. The Kaiserslautern girls put on a Fine showing. Twana Clemons led a red Raider 1-2-3 sweep in the 400. Natasha Williams was second and Orlanda Goode was third. Clemons won the 400 in 59.36 and ran a leg in All three events As Marty Kollars girls swept the relays. Clemons teamed with Goode Tonya Marshall and Keta Edwards for a 50.17 clocking in the 400. Latonya Sikes Natasha Williams Clemons and Edwards combined in the sprint Medley and it was Goode emmy vial Pando Natasha Williams and Clemons in the 1,600 relay which was turned in the very Fine time of 4 09.57. Frankfurt a Sidney Lemora took the 100 and Long jump to join Chukes and Pena As the Only boys double Bonne a Tracey Losi. Triple Gold Winner. a Stephanie Jones turned in a season Best Effort in winning the Long jump. She stretched the Mark out to 17-8 i. The Victory in the Long jump was the second for Jones who had won the High jump thursday with a 5-2 performance. Augsburg a Tarshia Bronner Augsburg a Bronner double Gold matched Jones double win with relatively easy triumphs in the shot and discus she also had a third in the Long jump and a fourth in the triple to wind up with the most Points in Field events 30. The other girls Field events Victor was Hanau a Caroll Hilliard who turned in a a 36-10, years Best in the triple jump
