Because i own a Home currently rental property in Maryland and expect to return to the state in 1993, Maryland considers me a Legal resident. Moreover Maryland argues that because i will expect the same level of service when 1 return that i received before i moved to Europe i should pay income taxes for the duration of my stay in Germany. 1 argue that the state is ripping me off because it can provide me with no services for the tax years in which i am paying income taxes while living abroad. In my opinion the real reason i pay state income taxes is because it increases state revenues at Little or no political costs. Although i have protested to state politicians about this unfair practice i have been a blown off in every Case. I am extremely bitter about this situation and would like to pursue alternative options.
