While the writer s examples of Serbia aggression Are valid some germans most notably former foreign minister Hans Dietrich Genscher seem to ignore the fact that Slovenia Croatia and bos Nia and Herzegovina were allies of nazi Germany during world War ii. Indeed croats and bosnian Muslim troops formed several is divisions which committed numerous atrocities in their War against Joseph Tito s primarily ser Bian partisan resistance. I recommend that those who choose to put the blame for All evil on Serbia read about the history of world War ii in the Balkans. They Wal find that the hands Char is div composed of Bosnia mus lims never left their Home province of Bosnia and Herzegovina to fight the partisans As the nazis intended. Instead they concentrated on killing christians and were ultimately judged a being so unreliable that they were Dis banded by the germans. I condemn the actions of All parties to this War serbs croats and muslims alike. They Are conducting what amounts to tribal religious warfare such As Europe has t seen since the horrors of the thirty years War 1618-1648. However blaming one party serbs while ignoring past aggressions and atrocities of the others croats and muslims will not help bring this War to an end. It. Col. Anthony j. James Jennings Raf Mildenhall England a need for condom talk in response to misplaced values july 25the author needs to Check his Calendar. We Are living in the 90s, not the 40s. Condom is not a dirty word anymore and i think miss America did nothing wrong by informing schoolchildren about the Protection a Condo gives. The author of the letter says we should preach abstinence to our children. Maybe we could enact a Law requiring All teen age girls to Wear a chastity Belt until their wedding Day too. Come on the just say no policy did t work Well with drugs and it won t work Well for sex. The pres sure put on teen agers to have sex try drugs and eve commit acts of violence is astounding. Most of this pressure comes from their Peers but some also come from movies television and other adults. Miss America is a role Model to Mil Lions of Young girls and if what she said to those children in Florida convinced one person to use a condom then it was Worth saying. Just telling a teen Ager about the Protection available to him other from venereal diseases aids and pregnancy docs not mean they will rus right out to put the method of Protection into are1 having sex these Days that is evident by the number of teen age pregnancies in the nation. We need to in form them of the choices available to them pending the failure of the Chatti Tybert Law so they can make an informed would like to believe that my Daugh Ter will never have sex until she is mar ried but i cannot. I would much rather have her Tell me that she had sex and used a condom than she had sex and is pregnant. I think if my parents had talked a Little More about condoms in Stead of preaching abstinence maybe i would t be paying child support for a son i had when i was 17. Matthew j. Postal attitude offensive i am amazed at the we Are doing you a favor tone of the letters from senior postal leaders and soldiers who work at military Post offices Kaposi have read Only one rebuttal letter that defended the postal workers position adequately. That Tetter was from an overworked specialist who cited the Lack of adequate personnel As a major cause of the Gross backlog of Job is a military Mission and it does t matter if it takes 24 hours a Day to do. Does anybody think that the Mili tary policeman is doing a favor by responding to a traffic Accident Domestic disturbance or dumpster fire Are Cooks in the dining facility doing a favor by coming to work seven Days a week at 3 . To prepare the breakfast meal we must All be willing to perform our missions professionally efficiently and completely. When i fix a helicopter or train a Young Soldier to fix it i do not think that i have done any favor for the Crew who flies it. I have worked and will cause others to work 24-hour shifts to ensure the helicopters Are Safe and Mission capable every Day. We Are All aware of the hardships sol Diers must endure to accomplish the mis Sion. We Are All overworked and under paid. The Apo s Mission is perceived by Many in Usa eur As inefficient. Many of us work with a Zero error tolerance. We expect the same level of performance from All others. This includes personnel finance housing Supply postal and All other services that support soldiers an their families. It is unacceptable for mail to take nine to 14 Days to arrive by air. It is unacceptable that properly addressed mail frequently arrives 21 Days late and is marked dissent to wrong i am very displeased with postal work ers attitudes when i report these prob lems. At every level i have talked to i receive the same shrugged shoulder response. There is a reason leaders Are frequently reminded not to mess with a Soldier Money mail or food doing so is a morale killer and therefore must be intensively managed. Master sgt. Fred c.
