A sign at the beginning of the Market warns shoppers to watch out for pickpockets. The downpour limits shoppers to a Hearty few. The Market cafe in the basement of one of the new buildings is full. The Young the hip and the Gay sip Tea and Coffee. They talk and laugh while watching what Little action there is pass by the Large windows. Once Amsterdam s main Market this Square with its imposing Waag Gebow weigh houses now Home for a few Market wagons Selling fish cheese and Flowers. The Commerce Here is just a few Steps away in the red Light District. As dusk arrives in Amsterdam on a fall evening the Bright lights of the sex shows the shops and the red lights of the bordello brings out customers and tourists alike. At this time of Day the tourists outnumber the clients and the District seems More harmless than anything. But a Short stroll through the District later at night brings out the seedier Side. I ended my walk foot weary at the 14th-Century Oudekerk Amsterdam s oldest Church. After i cafe hopped my Way Back across the City to my hotel i enjoyed a Good night s sleep in my Small but comfortable room. Day two saturday was cold and Cloudy. After paying for the parking garage it was off to Marken vol Lendam Edar continued on Page 14 Amsterdam s red Light District always attracts a few tourists above.
