It in t hate radio i Wouk like to dispute the lambasting of Rush Limbaugh s radio show As hate Limbaugh has never been rude Honor Hung up on any caller even if that caller did not share his views. Is that hate if we had an Opportunity to see his show Here in Europe maybe his critics would see what he is really about. Lim Baugh stands for the True american free Doms which we lose bit by bit due to lib eral lawmaking. He stands for a free society in which All of us Are entitled to speak our opinions and in which we have the Opportunity to either be great an make ourselves what we want to be or to fail miserably and Start Over. He has a optimistic View of what americans can do when we set our minds to something. Think a half hour of Limbaugh would be More educational and entertaining than family feud reruns. Belinda Tucker it Irmburg Germany " -.-. Where s the Flag just a Short note to Register Pur con Cern that the Flag of the United states of America has not been flying Over Taylo Barracks in Mannheim for almost a month now. Members of the military Are constantly reminded of How proud we should be to serve our country and the most enduring Symbol of that Pride is old glory. Why then is that Symbol not present Here it cannot be that there Are no funds for a new Flag. If that is the excuse then it Isa poor one. It cannot be that the Supply system can t get one. If they can procure toilet paper then they should be Able to procure old glory. Sgt. Mannheim Germany burned up Over smoke i agree with skating rink smokers Jan. 9. Another very Smoky facility is the Leisure activities Center. There Are at least five employees who work and smoke there. The designated smoking area is inthe Only hallway that goes downstairs where the Craft tree ceramics Center another work areas Are located. It is also where the photo lab is right in front of the doorway. Employees openly smoke at the recep Tion desk in offices and in hallways it s not the customers who smoke it s the employees. If i want to Send a fax i have to wait atthe reception desk while the employee Chain smokes. If i go to the costumer i have to wait while the employee smokes in her office. If i go to the photo lab to have por traits taken or to develop my own Pic Tures i have to go through the employees smoking in the designated i wonder How Many others Don t use the facility or dread using any activity there because of the Wall of smoke that greets us at the door Donna Wilson Augsburg Germany editor s note we encourage our readers especially those who have never submitted a letter to write Tous. Commentary regrets by Alice Steinbach the Man sitting next to me on the flight from Milan Italy to Chicago was full of regrets. Like me he was returning Home from Europe after a lengthy stay. But unlike me he was filled with regret about All the things he had t done on his trip the cities not visited the meals not eaten. Why i found myself wondering do some people seem compelled to dwell not on the pleasures of what was but on their regrets about what might have been the emotion of regret must have its own hidden Agenda one that serves some psychological need. Just what that need might be however eluded me. It turns out that a lot of other folks psychologists and social scientists to be exact have also begun to Ponder the purpose of regret. It s spawned a whole new Field of regret study. There have been a few and what have the researchers come up with so far Well for starters gender and age seem to play a role in the Way individuals shape their regrets. Men were far More Likely to say i re Gret not sleeping with that woman while women said i regret sleeping with that Man " psychologist Thomas Gilovich told the new York times. As for the age Factor Youn people regret actions taken More than those not however As people age it works theother Way we regret not what we did but what we did t do. Well that s what the formal research shows regarding regret. Now let s Cut to my informal Surveyor a Quick reality Check.
