Composed of a Bri Gade and a Forward support battalion the team is the largest unit to redeploy to the Continental United states since the draw Down began army officials in Mannheim said. The unit alone makes up More than 2 percent of All the army s troops in Europe. The redeployment also will remove about 500 troops from Baum older where the brigade s 2nd in 29th Field arty is assigned. Mannheim is now Home to about 6,800 Active duty soldiers according to it. Col. Rick Kuenning commander of Mann Heim s 293rd base support in. Given the brigade combat team s departure and Normal duty rotations More than half of the soldiers assigned there will be gone by september he said.
