This is a lion admirable trait of Many republicans that distinguishes them from democrats. When demo chats find themselves faced  appalling candidate on their Side they usually desert him As in democrats for name your gop or Independent candidate. Some of those who phoned had had their own ethics questioned while they worked inside or outside the White House. They included some who were also involved in the Iran Contra affair. Having had their honesty and patriotism questioned they nonetheless did not hesitate to question North a claiming that he broke Laws lied and misrepresented facts the same charges that had been levelled against some of them. Are North a detractors really concerned about integrity in the Senate the image of Virginia and the future of the Republican party. Only they know their motives for conducting what appears to have been an organized anti North Effort. But i suspect there was at least one hidden motive that no one dares speak.
