Donelli May be Best remembered As per haps the Only Man to coach a College and pro football team in the same year. It happened in 1941, when Donelli began his third year of coaching at Duquesne then a College Power. The Steeles began the season coached by part owner Bert Bell who later became nil commissioner. While Donelli s Duquesne team started an undefeated season Bell s Steeles promptly lost their first two games coaxing Bell to step Down. Part owner Art Rooney approached do Nelli about coaching the Steeles. He accepted while continuing to coach the Dukes. He would coach the Steeles in the morning then drive to Duquesne in the afternoon finishing up at 6 . Donelli s dual role did t last Long.
