In the most emotional sparring of the Case defense attorneys suggested prosecutors have been lying to the Simp son Camp and asked the judge to Force prosecutors to explain Why they should t be held in contempt of court. To say now that they Don t have time to do it is something that is very questionable and should be viewed with great suspicion said defense attorney Robert Shapiro. Another defense attorney Gerald Uelmen went a step further and said of prosecutors i think what we re really dealing with Here is an attitude  Deputy District attorney Marcia Clark her voice wavering at times said she has t been withholding Evi the defense and asserted the defense not Only an apology but a debt of gratitude. I m really very tired of hearing All these hysterical proclamations about How they re being denied things Clark said. We have done nothing improper. Smith did no take the course because he had been a Dallas police sergeant. The attacker was convicted july 21 of aggravated assault and sentenced to 25 years in prison
