The first production in the new summer music festival will be the italian comic opera the secret marriage which will continue through aug. 27. The new festival will be dedicated to chamber opera and chamber music concerts and feature talented singers and musicians from All Over the world according to american Singer and stage director Robert Bryant Dundas. This year s event which includes a sizable number of americans will spotlight a variety of chamber music in three settings the he Runsheimer Castle the intimate Gottliebe Kapelle and the a Elshof in downtown Worms. We chose the secret marriage Dundas said because it does t require a Large cast or complicated sets. It is also a much played the Domenico Cimarosa opera which will be performed in the former Carriage House of the he Runsheimer Castle is As Light As an impressionist painting and As elegant As a savile Row suit. The opera will have an extra Long break to allow the audience to take a leisurely stroll through the Castle grounds and Sample wines sold by a local Vinter or buy delicacies from a Worms restaurant. The company will consist of Dundas six singers three technicians and a Small orchestra composed of 30 musicians. Dundas said he was delighted to accept the Job of stage directing the new festival because of the High Quality of the cast. It will be his european debut As a stage director. Of course they the singers Are All very Good Here. I will direct and get out of their Way. That s very important As stage director knowing when to get out of the Way Dundas said.
