First of All walking is a wonderful and healthy Way to tour most cities. But the 625 Square Miles of London May be too much of a Challenge for average feet. Save your feet for exploring palaces churches galleries historical buildings and museums and invest a Little time in becoming familiar with the City s mass transit systems. London s subway system known As Quot the underground Quot or More commonly Quot the tube Quot is the quickest and easiest Way of getting around greater London. The tube which runs from 5 30 . Until Midnight mondays through saturdays and from 7 30 . To 11 30 . On sundays is the heart of London s transportation system. Trains run every few minutes. All tube stations Are clearly marked with a red Circle and a Blue crossbar. Many of the stations Are Home for a wide variety of subterranean shops stores bakeries and restaurants. Once you have decided which station you Are heading for locate that station on the alphabetical Index listed on one of the Large diagrams located throughout the station.
