M museum preserves life and times of allies in Berlin by Ron Jensen staff writer he Mission of protecting West Berlin is now a museum piece a figuratively and literally. Gone Are the troops of the three allies who patrolled the Western portion of the divided City during the cold War. Gone too Are the russian troops that the allies guarded against. The Berlin Wall is gone the City is no longer divided and the Federal bureaucrats Are moving in to make the City once again the capital of Germany. The cold War Era of Berlin however will not pass unnoticed into history. An Allied museum is being organized to commemorate those years paying close attention to the efforts and lifestyles of the protectors. The museum is still a year or two away from opening but a temporary exhibit on the museum site a the former outpost movie theater on Layallee near the one time american Headquarters a will Honor those efforts through oct. 16. A a a a the exhibit which welcomed 10,000 visitors on its sept. 4 opening Day was hastily assembled but is Well done and  bar Roux a French historian working for the museum pointed out that in june americans were watching movies in the theater.
