Baseball is pure greed just when it was Clear that the baseball season was Over along comes this proposal that there be a game Between the expos and yanks. I say Good riddance to an activity and its participants who really show greed in its purest form. Baseball is the most Boring and overrated activity this Side of mumble Type. Its contributions to society Are Zero and the Only meaningful statistic is measuring the deceit greed and Lack of reality that exists Between the owners and players. Sadly if a Resolution is found next season All will be forgiven and there will be record crowds of fans a k a saps chumps. There is a Silver lining to this All we get to wait until next year before it All starts again. Hopefully it will take longer. Mcclan of Brien Augsburg Germany teacher praised i am leaving the Wiesbaden Community soon and would like to make sure that the expert teaching skills of mrs. Hughes kindergarten teacher at the Hai Newberg elementary school do not go unrecognized. I done to think i have the authority to Grant mrs. Hughes any kind of award but i am sure that her supervisors do. I would like them to realize what an asset they have working for them. My Hope is that mrs. Hughes could be a candidate for teacher of the year. I know that she greatly deserves this recognition. Any student or Parent who has been Lucky enough to Deal with her would i am sure give the same Praise that i am giving. After hearing nothing but Praise from other teachers and friends from the Wiesbaden Community i Only hoped my child would get mrs. Hughes As a teacher. When my first child got her i was pleased. It did not take Long for me to see Why she was so loved by everyone. Kindergarten parents Are by far the most difficult to Deal with of course this is by my own account. They Are to put it nicely busybodies. We always want to know what and How our child is doing. This kindergarten thing is not Only new for fhe child but a new parental experience for us too. Mrs. Hughes never minded any questions from any parents. She is tremendously organized and always makes time for each parents concerns As Well As the concerns of the children. Walking into her classroom is an enjoyable experience. She is open minded and never has a problem explaining any of her decisions or choices. She has made me As a Parent feel Welcome in the classroom. I have two children now who have been Lucky enough to have mrs. Hughes As a teacher. I can Only say that my children look to school As being an enjoyable experience because they have an educational foundation that is both solid and Strong to build upon. In these times of uncertainty the Public school system is one i am very leery of. With teachers like mrs. Hughes being part of my children a learning experience i am much More secure about their future As students. M. Commentary Haiti Likely to derail Clinton legislation despite the Haiti preoccupation president Clinton said its important to keep things in context and get on with other business before time runs out in Congress. But there a not much Chance Clinton is going to get much done. With the Campaign on with democrats nervous and republicans taking the offensive in anticipation of election gains delivering major legislation have been easy in any event. Its More difficult now with attention focused on the . Intervention in Haiti. A a it a important i think that we keep this in proper context a a Clinton told congressional leaders. A we have much other important business to do in the relatively Small number of Days that remain with the what head wanted most a Bill to overhaul the health care system is gone. He did no to push the topic in setting his priorities for the final Days of the congressional session. Republican leaders said a new health Bill would be Defeated and in the process would bar approval of a new world Trade agreement which now tops Clinton a list. His Bill to approve the general agreement on tariffs and Trade is to be formally introduced this week congressional committees agreed on terms in Advance because once it is proposed it can Walter Mears not be changed. As Clinton noted the Trade Deal was shaped in negotiations that began during Republican White House years. But it does no to have to be done until july 1. Sen. Bob Dole the Republican Leader has said it should wait until next a year the administration wants it now wary of delays because others among the 123 nations involved Are waiting for action in Washington. Clinton also urged action on lobbying reforms now part of a Bill that would All but ban gifts meals and travel favors for members of Congress and on Campaign finance Reform. The latter Bill has been snarled All session in a dispute Over political action committees a House democrats done to want to give them up a and Campaign subsidies. Republicans objections on that measure tied up the Senate where end of session stalling is enough to kill a Bill. When democrats said so in protest sen. Mitch Mcconnell r-ky., said he had no apology for it. There was a Republican Man Euver to reopen the $30 billion crime Bill tacked on As an amendment to the Bill appropriating Hinds for the District of Columbia. Quot sen. Phil grammes amendment would Cut $5 billion for programs the republicans Call wasteful social spending and the democrats see As crime prevention Steps. It also would toughen prison terms set by the original crime Bill passed after a Midsummer Clinton struggle. Its not the congressional finale advertised a month ago before the recess. It was going to be a rejuvenated session ready to tackle major measures before adjourning a month or so before the nov. 8 elections. Instead the House and Senate hit the ground strolling with no air of urgency. That Hasni to changed much and now there a partisan bickering to go with it. The republicans Clinton told a i 1th the Campaign on with democrats nervous and republicans taking the offensive in anticipation of election gains delivering major legislation have been easy in any event. Its More difficult now with attention focused on the . Intervention in Haiti. Democratic fund raising dinner last week have a a thousand different ways of say he said a lot of people do not recognize democratic achievements because a the other Guys Are better talkers especially when they re saying Mcconnell said that a what the voters want said on measures like health care and Campaign finance legislation.
