When my Hus band and i opened our store in a Small affluent town in Connecticut we made the decision not to exclude Young people. In fact we welcomed them. We carry Many moderately priced items that teen agers can buy for their friends birthdays or for themselves. Consequently we Are mobbed after school and during school vacations. I wonder How parents can see the new things their kids bring Home and not ask questions. We be done everything the authorities have suggested to protect our merchandise but these kids Are amazingly talented at shoplifting. They shop in groups and know How to distract the own. Ers. There Are so Many Good kids that it pains us to have to police them but the ones who steal Are putting Many Small stores out of business.
