Four Days into their six Day vacation their dog a ablaze a became violently ill. I phoned them to get their veterinarians name and asked permission to have Blaze examined and treated. The wife accused me of kicking or mistreating the dog because a the was All right when we left a i was truly  husband asked me to take Blaze to their veterinarian and said he would reimburse me. When the vet saw the animal he diagnosed a serious liver disorder which he assured me could not have been caused by an injury of any kind. Blaze died in the Hospital the morning Ann Landers the family returned. When i went Over to the House to see them they were not Only ungrateful but also insulting. I had missed two Days of work because of their pet and they did no to even thank me for my concern. I was shocked when the wife said several items were missing from their House  to was broken. She also claimed the veterinarian told her it was my fault that the dog died so they did no to feel obligated to reimburse me for the vets Bill. Only when i threatened to take them to Small claims court did they pay up. Urge All House and pet Sitters to insist on explicit written instructions regarding the care of the pet As Well As a statement outlining the Sitters responsibility in Case of damage to the House or its contents.
