The warriors did not release terms of the agreement with Webber last season s Rookie of the year. They said Webber was expected to rejoin the team Friday or saturday. The signing came at the end of a hold out that led. Coach Don Nelson to say he would quit if such a move would facilitate signing Webber who has said he was unhappy playing for Nelson last season. Webber whose agents said they were investigating possible trades with four teams during the stalemate was angered at Nelson for making such a suggestion. Player representatives met monday in Chicago to discuss a league proposal that would allow teams to re sign their own free agents and increase salaries at a level tied to increases in Aba revenues. Such an adjustable system would re place a loophole in salary Cap rules that allows teams to re sign their own free agents without regard to Cap limitations. The Aba s proposed system also would replace current rules that allow a team to increase a player s salary up to 30 percent of the player s salary in his first contract year. The Aba and its Union Are trying to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement while the season continues under a no strike no lockout pledge signed by both sides last month.
