For example a three Penon family with $300 a month Gross income would be Given an automatic deduction of $60. If the family s income consisted of wages it could de duct another $60. Child care expenses up to $75 also could be subtracted from Gross in come to leave a net income of $105. The family then could deduct the amount of its rent and Utility expenses that exceeded half of its net income. For example if its shelter costs were $66 a month it could deduct $13 to. That would give it an adjusted net in come of $91.50. The family then would have its allotment of Stamps reduced by 30 per cent of its adjusted net income.
