The closely watched average has Given up 163.69 Points so far this year wiping out All of 1976 s gains. The new York Stock Exchange common Stock Index dropped 0.72 to 52.07, the lowest level since it finished at 51.97 on Jan. 22, 1976. Standard & poor s 500-Stock Index containing some Over the counter issues dropped 1.44 to 95.04, the lowest level since it closed at 94.95 on Jan. 9,1976. Declines routed advances 1,288 to 533, among the 2,110 issues crossing the Compo site tape. Big Board volume totalled 93,544, 630 shares compared with 87,510,370 the previous week and 126,624,490 during the same week a year  volume of nose issues listed on All . Exchanges and Over the counter totalled 110,038,870 shares compared with 103,026,250 the previous week.
