About % Square feet in size the mural is said to have been painted upon completion of the Castle 300 years ago according to local records. Zorger examines his work on a mural discovered in a Butz Bach Germany Cavern. The painting shows a scene in the 30 years War. Depicts a scene that occurred during the 30years War. Duke Phillip von Hessen who had the Castle built is seen taking a parch ment from a horseman. The message was from a neighbouring King who promised Duke Phillip that he would not destroy his Castle during his onslaught on other Feudal lords. Zorger came to Butzbach in August with members of the 317th engr in to prepare the Castle for housing the joint visitors Bureau of v corps command Post exer Cise carry through. When i saw the painting i was awed said Zorger. It was gouged scarred and had big holes in it. Zorger Felt an urge to restore the painting because i was inter ested in saving it for history s  Zorger s platoon sergeant . Harold a. Thomas also encouraged the Young artist to repaint the mural. Thomas believes that restoring the mural will Foster better relationships Between the Citi Zens of Butzbach and the soldiers at the Cavern. One Butzbach organization wanted to save the Fresco a year ago by cutting the mural Wall from the Castle and placing it in a local museum but it was discovered that the Wall was deteriorating and the idea was abandoned. Besides said Thomas we could t live with Zorger if we did t let him finish  with brushes and acrylic paints by his unit Zorger began the demanding Challenge in the Middle of August. He paints As Long As 10 hours a Day finishing one Square Inch about every 10 minutes. He Hopes to finish in mid october but i Don t know what my commander will  what do others say about the Effort Gen. George s. Those who have watched the painting develop from faded colors on a Wall to a life sized historic scene Are amazed with Zorger s Talent. Clague 1952" painted in the lower right hand Corner of the mural. A local facility Engineer told Zorger that he saw Clague painting the mural 25 years ago. Clague was assigned to the 4th engr in 4th inf div which was located at the Cavern from 1950-1953. Did Clague paint the mural he might have said Zorger but the Only Way you could be sure is to compare 100 ships involved in med exercise with the . Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean the . Sixth Fleet together with the fourth Marine amphibious brigade have joined with the forces of five other nato nations to participate in nato s sea air land exercise Dis play determination 77, in the Mediterranean. Approximately 100 ships from Portugal Greece Italy the United kingdom Turkey and the United states Are involved in the exercise. Included in the naval forces Are 33 . Sixth Fleet ships with More than 25,000 Navy and Marine corps personnel embarked. Display determination began in the Eastern Atlantic sept. 19 As ships of Portu Gal and the United kingdom assembled to proceed through the Straits of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean rendezvous ing with american and italian ships to form a simulated merchant Convoy and escort. The Convoy and an aircraft Carrier task Force have been proceeding eastward toward Italy encountering naval opposition and air attacks by British Ameri can and italian enemy forces. The naval Force will enter the Eastern Mediterranean through the Messina Straits near Sicily transiting the ionian and Aegean seas in route to the amphibious objective area in  addition the resupply Convoy in route to support the land forces proceeds North through the Aegean protected by greek turkish United kingdom and . Air and naval forces. Opposition is also provided by aircraft ships and submarines from these countries. On sept. 30 a combined amphibious land ing Wilt be conducted at Saros Bay Turkey North of the Dardanelles. It is designed to train nato forces in combined operations to refine nato procedures and to update operational plans to meet the demands of current nato commitments. Display determination 77 is one of Sev eral exercises in this year s autumn forge series being conducted by the Allied com Mand Europe. The autumn forge concept brings together under a common scenario a number of exercises taking place each year ranging from Norway to Turkey. Participating Are All nato nations with forces committed to the defense of Western Europe. The paint in the mural with that in the  the scroll to which he referred is at the Bottom of the mural. It s the Story of the mural painted in English but it is thought that the scroll could have been added by Clague. Surprisingly the year Clague painted his name on the Fresco Zorger was born and now 25 years later Zorger plans to sign his name to the same Wall. I have every right to sign my name said Zorger. I just did t refinish the mural i had to recreate at least 50 per cent of it because of its damaged Condi  almost no one knew the painting existed until two years ago when the Castle Walls were washed before repainting. A White Wash covering the Fresco dripped off the Wall revealing the painting. And until Zorger began painting the mural was in shabby condition Accord ing to . John 0.
