American olympic Gold medallist Arnie Robinson sails in the Long jump. Americans win or place in 8 events americans excelled in eight events at the Frankfurt International track and Field meet tuesday capturing three first places. Al Feuerbach won first place in the shot put with a heave of 65 feet 7 inches carry Bethel won the the 110-meter hurdles in 13.8 seconds and James King won the 400 meter hurdles in 50.03 seconds. Other americans who placed include Steve Riddick and Steve Williams second and third respectively in the 100-meters is photos by Pete a Ilia behind Hasley Crawford of Trinidad. Then they placed in the reverse order behind James Gilkis of Guyana in the 200 meters Henry Rono of Kenya and Washington state University came in third in the 3000 meters. His time was 13 seconds off his world record time for that distance which he set earlier this year. It is one of four world records he has set this year. The Pace in the Frankfurt mile was too much for american Dick Buerkle who is coming Back after months of injuries that have plagued him since he set the world indoor record for the mile last Janu Ary. He finished far behind England s David Moorcroft who ran 3 55.3. Jeff Taylor placed second in the pole vault behind Giinther Lohre of kor West Heim who set a German record with a jump of just Over 18 feet. And Ben Fields and Rory Korienk placed second and third respectively in the High jump. Olympian Gold medallist Arnie Robinson failed to place in the Long jump. . Shot Putter Al Feuerbach unwinds
