Kwist held a slim one target Lead following the .410 bore shooting on Friday but dropped into second place the next Day when Burdett scored a perfect round in the 28-gauge.Burdett then increased his Lead to a commanding five targets after the 20-gauge event die first 100 targets of 12 gauge however proved to be his undoing. Having recently changed to an Over under Shotgun for the 12 gauge Burdett ran into recoil problems and when the smoke cleared Kwist was Back in the Lead. Burdett switched to his 28gauge in a last Day attempt to make up lost ground but Only managed a 97, three Short of his previous perfect 100 in that event. Kwist shot a 99 to capture top place with a 487 total Burdett s482. I pre tournament favorite Al Levette of Patch Barracks in Stuttgart failed to show Fortis .410 targets because of a giant traffic snarl on the autobahn. Pitburg air base scored a first for european skeet shoots by Fielding an All women Eam in addition to its five Man squad. One member of the women s team sue Lizio beat 1 Comers in e class of the 12  Overall five member team award went to Rhein main Stuttgart s Patch bar Acks finished a close second. Being an avid Hunter i sometimes spend Many hours in the evening cleaning either a Rifle or Shotgun which i have just used or will be using on my next Hunt. Unfortunately that s not the Only item of equipment that needs care and attention. Boots May be made for Walkin but you will not walk Over very much if you Don t take care of them. Like any leather item boots must be cared for or they will deteriorate very rapidly. Placing your expensive boots Back in the Corner of the closet seems to be the next step for old boots Good boots Cost a lot of Money dollars or do depending on your Market but protecting them against the water rocks and snags is quite simple. All it takes is Saddle soap High Quality Oil and a Good Wax preparation for the occasional heavy duty water  your boots should be waterproofed even before they Are worn outside the House oiled Lonce a week or so during heavy use periods and waxed once again before putting them Way retirement at the end of the season. If you look Forward to a lot of walking through now or water the Boot your boots seams will need special care. Treatment with one of the special epoxy seam sealants May be necessary. Your regular care program should include Saddle soaping and a Liberal application of lubricating Oil such As Huberd s shoe Oil. Once or twice a season you should change to a i Wax such As Sno seat to replace to  Good pair of boots will last through Many years of use if they receive the proper care. If not the top portion of the Boot will dry and crack before the soles Are hardly scuffed. Start cleaning with a thorough brushing to remove mud and grit. Next clean the Boot with a High Quality Saddle soap carefully following the manufacturer s instructions. A Small Brush will help clean around seams and near the sole. Then wipe off All Saddle Sopwith a Damp sponge putting the boots aside to dry overnight. Don t attempt to Speed up the drying process by setting them in front of a space Heater or other direct heat  the boots Are completely dry heat them slightly Over the Range or campfire. You should then apply a Good coat of Quality shoe Oil. Oil will be sufficient if the boots Are not to be used for really wet work and for occasional touch ups during heavy use. For slog Ging through Stream or Snow however a heavy Wax product probably should be , heat the Boot then apply the Wax. Be sure to put extra Wax on the hard use areas on All seams around the sole arc the toe and Heel. The Wax will melt on the War leather then it can be rubbed in. Leather will absorb vast amounts of the Wax or Oil during the initial application but Forest results you should let the boots stand overnight and then rub in More Oil. If you care for your boots they la care for you and they la last longer be definitely More comfortable if you follow these simple instructions once or twice a season. The skeet shoot for Wertheim on the 16th and 17th of september has been cancelled. Trophy Buck for Bob Robert g.
