Fifteen months a 30, i was sitting with a bottle of pills ready to end my life. The feeling of hopelessness was overwhelming. I did t want to live but i did t want to die either. My de pression was not caused by a chemical imbalance nor were my everyday prob lems too much to handle. My depression was caused by alcoholism and drug Addic Tion. At the time i truly believed alcohol and drugs were helping me Cope with my de pression when actually they were the cause of it. My father died of alcoholism and i had promised myself Many times that i would never end up like him. But i almost did. I m glad i decided against swallowing those pills. I went into treatment moved Home 1 was in Colleg became involved with a and will be Back in school in september. My sobriety has made me grateful for what i have instead of self pitying for what i Don t have. I Wake up every morning looking Forward to what s ahead. I still have some rough Days but so does everyone. For me the bad times make the Good times that much better.
