All those woman who complain about being Flat chested or having too Little should thank their Lucky stars they Don t have too much. I speak from experience. I was a 44dd until an Anonymous Friend sent me a Magazine article about surgical breast reduction. I wrote to you and your advice was to find a plastic surgeon who specializes in that Type of surgery and go for i did just that and it changed my life. Before i had the operation i was so big busted i was unable to stand up straight. I had migraines All the time. I was unable to sleep on my stomach. Brassiere straps dug ridges into my shoulders and caused con Stant pain. The excess weight on my ribcage created problems breathing. Buying clothes was impossible. Nothing fit. A Friend who had a similar problem not As bad As mine had breast reduction sur Gery and told me i was crazy to go on suf Fering. I decided she was right and made an appointment to see a surgeon. He said i was a prime after the operation my first conscious thought in the recovery room was i can t believe i m so Light i feel like a the doctor told me he had removed almost eight pounds. My insurance company paid most of the medical expenses. My family was extremely supportive. They knew How i Felt. I m so pleased with myself. I m like a different person. I Don t have headaches. The address is 233 North Michigan ave suite 1900, Chicago i 60601. Dear Ann Landers the letter about paper boys from mom in Phoenix brought Back fond memories of my youth in Atlanta. I encountered virtually every situation imaginable including the difficulty of collecting complaints due to wet papers late papers and the mysterious disappearance of papers for which my customer did not want to pay. I never became discouraged. I found 100 opportunities to make new friends. I enjoyed delivering satisfactory service Mak ing a profit and More Learned How to establish relationships with All kinds of people. I am positive that my experiences As a paper boy helped me succeed in College and taught me a lot i could use in my 35 year career As a banker. . In Orlando Fla dear what a great testimonial thanks for writing. Readers Wlsh no to write to news America Syndi Cate columnist Landers May address their letters in care of the stars and stripes Apo 09211, . Forces Don t make businessmen scapegoats writer says recently there appeared in the stars and stripes a letter which deplored the National debt and our annual Trade deficit. The writer stated that the Gramm Rudman act is a Good step toward correcting the situation. I May agree with him on this Point but it is the Only one in his letter. For example he does t like the fact that the average Amer ican is going to have to come up with the Money for the National debt. Rather he Points his Finger at big business and the Rich As the scapegoats for our situation. Ask yourself. Who defaulted when our elected officials listened to our demands for Public housing Public education Public transportation Public welfare fixed wages fixed prices import Export controls etc., and Infin Tum either we were one of the people who demanded something for nothing or we were one of the people who did t care so Long As we could Tell ourselves that the Bill would t come to us. Guess what the Bill is overdue and As the Man pointed out it is so overdue that we Are Only paying on the interest. Brother we asked for it either outright or through our own apathy businessmen Are the foundation of our country the producers of wealth who have created the highest Standard of living of any country and yet he would penalize them by singling them out to pay off our National debt. From this i can Only infer that he thinks wealth is infinite or that it grows on Trees. Take another look at that National debt and you will realize that wealth is finite that we owe More than we can produce. And that is the key word produce. Does some beggar of a foreign country produce anything in place of our foreign Aid to him does a welfare recipient produce does a student on a government College loan produce does a Farmer who has been subsidized not to grow his crops produce no they Don t. But a Man of business does produce the wealth of this country. He invents creates or takes an existing idea and produces something or provides a service which you and i either need for our existence or want As an enhancement to that same existence. You Don t buy his product unless it is of some value to you. So How by what Crite Ria can you demand that the businessman shoulder the National debt alone the Busi Nessman did t beg it from you or extort it. You traded your Money for whatever he was offering in Exchange. And then he goes on to berate business men for loaning Money to our government and foreign governments claiming that they Are raking in huge interest payments. I won t pretend to know exactly How much interest is charged but the Way i under stand credit is that the larger the business government the smaller the interest charges. Also the longer the term the lower the interest rate. But even if his facts Are Correct exorbitant interest rate sit is their Money to loan or to do whatever they wish with. And i suppose if they had t loaned the Money he would have probably berated them for being selfish. Also ask yourself How Many billions of . Dollars have been lost by businessmen when a foreign government decides to nationalize . Businesses in their country. Businessmen Are in business to make Money and All americans should be rightly thankful for that. And if you Arent then you just try to produce by your own Effort a loaf of bread a gallon of milk some meat and some Coffee. That is a very Small list but you should get the Point. The doing in t that easy is it most people take these simple items for granted. They Don t realize the Effort required to produce them. That s Why the businessman producer inventor or creator should be honoured and thanked not slapped in the face. And what he has earned is his to keep the culprit in the National debt and Trade deficit has been in every instance our government and the people who we have elected or appointed. But we share the culpability because we have failed to watch the growth bureaucracy of our government close enough. We have allowed it to grow into a Jugger naut which May be All but impossible to Stop. Today government is so All pervading that it touches every facet of our lives. From birth in Public funded hospitals to Public funded education to wage and Price controls and All the government interventions in our Economy to mandatory retire ment on social Security in Public funded Low Cost housing to medicare in the Afore mentioned Public funded hospitals to finally the Public cemetery. And this Man wonders and is frustrated at the size of our deficit. I agree that something must be done about the National debt. Since we All americans not just one group Are at fault through our inattention to our government or our improvident and baseless demands for Public Money or just Plain apathy we should pay it off. I too have a suggestion on How to get rid of the deficit. Dismantle every Public Gram social welfare Bureau every Regula Tion on Trade and the Economy and every foreign Aid program. Let s return to the principles that built this great country hard nosed stand on your own two feet i am responsible capitalism. Let s educate All people on the bankruptcy of demanding the unearned social Grams and other altruistic concepts. And if they Don t believe you show them the result of socialism our National debt. Petty officer . Victor Chapman Stuttgart the and Fries to european edition misuse of action lines deplored i have a problem with the so called action lines or Gripe columns in base newspapers.
