Anil a few of your very desperate Rich types go in for the peat Baths a sort of High class variety of mud hassling where the Only winners is usually the ones who Don t take part if you hear what i am saying and you would have to be Howdy Doody not to. Whatever you go Down there for though Baden Baden is no bargain lust about everything in the City from the name on up fun you double and that is certainly the Case at the Terrace restaurant of the Kuxhaus an old building covered Over with Marble and lots of brass where you go to sign up for them cures i was speaking about earlier the restaurant does offer up a Good View of the surrounding Trees and mountains and certain parts of the downtown but the City its own self is not very Scenic because it is crowded with old women look no for Somel Hing to buy and old men wearing baggy shorts who Are going to have to pay for that something. Joleen and me me right outside the restaurant and were ushered in by an older Man in a evening suit who was very gracious to us getting us a Corner table and making sure we were comfortably seated and had a couple of very cold Campari and sodas and the menus before he wandered off to find a Wail Ess for us. Now i got to Alert you right Here to the fact that if you Are interested in eating salads then this place is holding one of the Best salad bars on the continent and at a fair Price to Boot. It s a two tabled Job. Cuing in the spa town of Badin by Dan can of pricey and dip pointing. With table no 1 being your traditional Type salad foods like lettuce and tomatoes and such with a few Little niceties like baby ears of Corn and Little onions and freshly made Bacon bits and what have you. At table no. 2 we re talking smoked Trout and baked Chicken and a couple sea food terrines with mussels and shrimp a few pates shredded beef in a Vlna Grette and a pretty fancy tuna supreme served up without the Mayo. They also got an interesting dish of very rare roast beef that is wrapped around White asparagus Spears the Way most people put pop n fresh dough around a Wiener. Table no. 1 will run you about $3. A crack at both tables goes for about $8 and both Are a pretty Good bargain. Joleen and me decided to order off the menu however although the Little lady did kick her meal off with a salad from table no. 1. I personally went for Cantaloupe with slivers of italian Ham that the italians Call pro Ciurro and the germans know As Parma Schenken not bad but the Price j6.50, sort of look the Edge off the Laite if you catch my Drift. In addition to the Ham and Melon they also got a variety of Hon d oeuvres like shrimp cocktail and stuffed mushrooms and cold Trout All for about the same Price As the Ham and Melon which is to say kind of pricey. For main courses Joleen went after a plate of fish this particular one being a mix of Salmon and sole fillets. I myself unable to fend off a Nasty hankering for something that was red on the inside ordered up the entre Cole cooked medium and topped with mushrooms and a Little layer of melted White cheese. The Story of Oleen s fish was not a Happy one i am sorry to report. The Salmon Steak was fair the lady said although a Little overcooked. Ditto for the sole fillets which were buried under a thin Newburg sauce that lasted like melted Down Cheeze Whiz. A Little clump of very boiled Rice rounded out the Plale. A solid three on the International 1 to locale Joleen said. My Steak lopped the scale at around eight. It was cooked perfectly and served up with one of them foil wrapped potatoes we re talking Gold foil Here friends and a Small pile of pea pods. I do not know where the Kuxhaus gets us beef but this was Quality cow Corn fed if my Lasle buds were not out to lunch. Cheek tightening Chow in my Corner. We washed in All Down with a couple of glasses each of some of the House wine with Joleen getting a half dry while with her fish and me handling a very Nice French Bordeaux Good taste and a Good Price on that count. Even though we do not normally Eal sweets after a meal Jyleen had skipped Over a lot of her fish and. Was ready for a Little dessert which comes around Here on a cart holding cakes and tarts and enough whipped Cream fora weekend party at the Playboy mansion Joleen went for a thick wedge of your Black Forest Cherry cake while i went for a Little number they Call the Lemon Roll both very Good and both thick with the Cream a condition which you Are generally not going to hear old Clem complain about. We ordered up a couple of espressos and cognacs after that and Sal around working out our rating while we watched the shoppers on the main Street do their stuff. The place is pleasant decor Wise but the prices Are basically set up for retired wealthy people which. It happens neither Joleen nor me Are. Outside of the salad bar the food is up and Down and no real bargain in the first place and the service is Only fair. I swear i heard our waitress sigh a couple of limes during the meal when we asked for More wine or something. All in All a mixed bag thai does not deserve the prices. The Terrace restaurant is located on he main promenade of Baden Baden s  is difficult to miss. Lunch for in if you do not Lake the salad bar is going to run you about $35. Joleen and me give the place two and a half pointy fingers. The extra half is Only because of int salad bar. Ratings b 3 b b 21 awesome eel. We re talking Paradise on a Plale Here.
